“Make yourself at home, Sarah.” Ben unlocked the door to his house. Sarah saw the open bathroom door, and she went and took care of her hair. It was a mess after that plane ride. She went into the kitchen, and she poured herself some orange juice. Empty Soylent packages and little dark vials littered the kitchen counter.

Benjamin, Raphael, and Sarah sat down on the couches in the living room. Sarah noticed that the latest Xbox was glowing next to the huge LED television. She got up and turned it off. She normally tried to suppress her bit of OCD, but it flared up now and then. If she didn’t want to suffer in silence in the corner, she had to take care of the glowing light.

“Take a seat, guys. I have news. I know why that girl died.”

“What?” Raphael jumped to his feet. “What is going on?”

“I got a strange call today. I was supposed to have a meeting with Johnny Harris.”

“Johnny Harris? That pain in the ass?”

“Yes, Johnny. I was supposed to have a meeting with him, but I got a phone call instead. This morning, when I opened my email, I found an email about stock options.”

“Stock options? What do they have to do with anything?” Sarah frowned. “What have you gotten into?”

“I did not choose this. There was an email that self-destructed after I read it. It said that I have no choices. I think that Johnny is trying to put pressure on me by threatening my best friend.”

“Have you read the police report? I was barely awake when they murdered a girl who was in my bed.”

“Yes, I have. It’s unfortunate.”

“Unfortunate? We need to call the police.” Sarah shot to her feet.

Raphael and Benjamin locked eyes. “We like to take care of things by ourselves.”

“I am worried about you, though. I had no idea that my business would put you in danger, Raphael.”

“It is fine. Danger is my middle name.”

“No, your middle name is Levi.”

Sarah sat down and interrupted them. “So what is your plan? If you do not want to contact the police, what is your next step?”

“I am going to resign and sell my stock.”

Raphael and Sarah stared at him in complete shock. “Close your mouths. It is not a big deal. My lawyers are going through my plan right now, but it looks like it will work.”

“Well, if you would like another lawyer to look at it, I will do it free of charge.”

“Why don’t you come back later tonight, Sarah, and go through the plan?” Raphael sat back in his chair. “I am sure that Benjamin could use your expertise.”

“I am sure that Benjamin is completely covered by his corporate lawyers. I do not specialize in corporate law.”

“I would love another opinion on this,” Benjamin protested. “Besides, I need to thank you for getting my best friend out of the United Arab Emirates, so I would like to ask you out for a meal.”

Sarah looked at Raphael. Raphael was basically glowing with satisfaction.
